It’s More Than Just a Library

It’s a Legacy in the Making

The Friends of the O’Kelly Memorial Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting the future of literacy, learning, and connection in Loganville, Georgia. As a proud partner in the Azalea Regional Library System, our mission is to help fund and raise awareness for a new, modern library that meets the growing needs of our community. With your support, we can build a space that brings generations together for education, exploration, and community engagement.

A Little Introduction

Why Loganville Needs a New Library

Built in 1989, the current O’Kelly Memorial Library is one of the busiest libraries in Walton County. However, its 7,162 square feet of usable space is no longer sufficient to meet the demands of a rapidly growing population. With limited space, outdated infrastructure, and the upcoming Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) road expansion project threatening its footprint, now is the time to act.

Through the generosity of state and local funding—including a $3 million Capital Outlay Grant, $1.2 million in County impact fees, and $1.5 million in ARPA funds and land from the City of Loganville—the foundation has been laid. But community support is critical to complete Phase 1 and launch Phase 2 of this transformative project.

Honoring the Legacy of Mrs. Willie D. O’Kelly Dubois

Mrs. O’Kelly, a dedicated educator and advocate for children, helped bring the dream of a local library to life more than 30 years ago. Her vision was simple: to give Loganville’s children—and all residents—a place to learn, grow, and belong. The new O’Kelly Memorial Library will continue to carry her name and her legacy, ensuring future generations benefit from her foresight and dedication to public service.
